Telephone, TV and broadband provider moves into quad-play with four SIM-only plans

Plusnet has launched its own MVNO service, completing its move to a quad-play provider. Customers can pre-register for Plusnet Mobile from today before it becomes available on November 29.

The telephone, TV and broadband provider has joined forces with LIFE Mobile for the creation of the service. The EE MVNO’s customers will become Plusnet Mobile subscribers from launch day.

The mobile operator acquired the Phones 4u MVNO in October 2014, just weeks after the collapse of the retailer. At the time, LIFE Mobile had 85,000 customers.

Plusnet Mobile will offer four 4G SIM-only tariffs on 30-day rolling contracts, ranging from £5 per month with 250 minutes, 500 texts and 500MB of data to £15 per month with unlimited minutes, texts and 4GB of data.

It becomes the latest MVNO to launch and follows last month’s announcement from Sky that pre-registration to its 11 million customers for its own mobile service is now open.

“Incredibly exciting moment”

Plusnet CEO Andy Baker (pictured) said: “This is an incredibly exciting moment in our company’s history. Plusnet has always prided itself on offering customers more for less, and extending our offering to include a mobile service os a natural step as we move to become a full-service quad-play provider.

“With the launch of Plusnet Mobile, we’ll be helping more people to stay connected on-the-go with our fantastic data-packed deals and highly competitive rates.”
